Riyadh, November 23, 2024 – In a significant step towards addressing the humanitarian needs in Yemen, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has signed a cooperation agreement with a civil-society organization to provide shelter for families affected by devastating floods and torrents in the Hadhramaut Governorate. The agreement, which was finalized through a video conference, aims to build 114 suitable homes for the displaced and needy families in the region.

The agreement was officially signed by KSrelief's Assistant General Supervisor for Operations and Programs, Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz. In his statement, Eng. Al-Baiz expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the Abdul Qader Al-Muhaidib Charitable Foundation for their generous contribution to this vital project. He highlighted that the foundation's donation is essential to the success of the initiative, which will provide safe and secure housing for families who have lost everything due to the catastrophic floods.

This new initiative is part of a broader commitment by KSrelief to support relief and humanitarian efforts around the world. Through its continuous work, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, via KSrelief, has been at the forefront of providing aid to communities in need, particularly in crisis-stricken regions such as Yemen. The project in Hadhramaut comes as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to alleviate suffering caused by natural disasters, reinforcing its commitment to humanitarian causes and the well-being of vulnerable populations.

The shelter project will not only provide immediate relief to the affected families but will also contribute to the long-term recovery of the region, ensuring that those who have been displaced can rebuild their lives with dignity. KSrelief’s collaboration with the Abdul Qader Al-Muhaidib Charitable Foundation underscores the importance of partnership between humanitarian organizations, the private sector, and charitable foundations in addressing complex crises.

Through this agreement, KSrelief continues to demonstrate its dedication to improving the living conditions of those in need, providing them with shelter, safety, and hope for a better future. The relief efforts by Saudi Arabia, in partnership with international organizations, stand as a testament to the Kingdom’s leadership in global humanitarian assistance.
