KSrelief Wraps up Volunteer Training for Türkiye Earthquake Victims

Riyadh, October 9, 2024 - The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has successfully completed its third and fourth volunteer training programs in Hatay Province, Türkiye, designed to enhance the skills and employability of local communities affected by the recent earthquake. The training sessions, which took place from September 29 to October 4, 2024, focused on a variety of essential skills, equipping 20 volunteers with valuable knowledge in economic empowerment fields such as sewing, embroidery, refrigeration and air conditioning repair, multimedia technology, graphic design, and computer maintenance.

In addition to vocational training, the programs included first aid training tailored for both general participants and visually impaired individuals, further broadening the scope of support offered. Overall, the training initiatives benefited 215 individuals directly, while an additional 782 people received psychological support through individual and group therapy sessions, addressing the emotional and mental health challenges stemming from the earthquake's aftermath.

These efforts are part of KSrelief's broader commitment to improving the livelihoods and overall well-being of those affected by the earthquake in both Syria and Türkiye. By focusing on skill development and psychological support, KSrelief aims to empower victims, providing them with the tools needed to rebuild their lives and communities in the wake of disaster.
