Kuwait regrets UN Security Council veto hindering Arab League's Gaza ceasefire resolution

Kuwait, February 21, 2024, The State of Kuwait has expressed regret over the use of veto at the UN Security Council, which prevented the adoption of a resolution submitted by Algeria on behalf of the Arab League calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and an end to the ongoing aggression by the occupation forces against the Palestinian people. Kuwait reiterated its position for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and issued a dire warning about the potential repercussions of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the region. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need for urgent action to address the challenges confronting the international community.
