Riyadh, October 30, 2023, The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA) has inked a preliminary agreement with National Unified Procurement (NUPCO), SUDAIR PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY, and Sanofi, focusing on localizing insulin product manufacturing and knowledge transfer. The agreement, which was formalized during the Global Health Forum, enjoyed the patronage of Chairman Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, and was attended by Ministers Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, responsible for Investment and Health, respectively.
Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Samari, the CEO of LCGPA, emphasized the significance of localizing insulin product manufacturing and knowledge transfer within the healthcare sector. He underlined its role in advancing domestic content in the pharmaceutical industry, aligning with the Health Sector Transformation Program, a vital component of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative.
Al-Samari also commended LCGPA's contributions to enhancing preventive health through quality initiatives, aligning with the objectives of the Vaccines and Biopharmaceuticals Industry Committee and the Treatments Localization and Development Committee. These efforts aim to localize key industries, ensuring health and drug security, and he expressed gratitude to the various government agencies involved, including the Ministry of Health and the Government Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority.
