LPTC celebrates graduation of "Fundamentals of Manga Industry" program participants

Tokyo, February 2, 2024, The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission (LPTC) recently marked a significant milestone by hosting a ceremony dedicated to commemorating the successful completion of the second edition of the "Fundamentals of Manga Industry" program. This initiative, designed to impart professional training to budding manga artists through the application of Japanese techniques, is a collaborative effort between LPTC and the Manga Production Company, an entity affiliated with the Mohammed bin Salman "Misk" Foundation.

The celebratory event unfolded at the esteemed Kadokawa Academy in Tokyo, Japan, and saw the presence of key figures such as LPTC CEO Dr. Mohammed Hasan Alwan and Manga Production Company CEO Dr. Issam Amanullah Bukhari.

The program garnered remarkable interest, drawing over 1,700 participants, encompassing both male and female enthusiasts who engaged in virtual workshops. From this pool, 75 individuals distinguished themselves, earning a spot in the intensive training program and contributing to the creation of 75 compelling comic stories. Notably, 14 exceptional trainees were selected for a unique opportunity to further refine their skills in Japan, receiving guidance from experts in the art of manga.

Moreover, the program saw significant engagement in its associated competitions, with 130 submissions for the "Manga" competition and an impressive 70 entries for the "Manga Qaseed" competition, underscoring the widespread enthusiasm and talent within the realm of manga artistry.
