LYON March 27, 2025: Kadidiatou Diani scored once and assisted two goals as Lyon dominated Bayern Munich 4-1 in the second leg of their Women’s Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday.
After a 2-0 first-leg win in Munich, Lyon needed a boost after Bayern's Klara Bühl scored in the 33rd minute to narrow the deficit. But Lyon responded strongly in the second half, securing a 6-1 aggregate victory. Diani set up goals for Melchie Dumornay and Tabitha Chawinga, with Dumornay assisting Ada Hegerberg to complete the rout in stoppage time.
Bayern’s defensive errors and an injury to Jovana Damnjanovic hindered their comeback attempts. Lyon will face either Real Madrid or Arsenal in the semifinals, with the two teams playing their second leg in London later. Barcelona leads Wolfsburg 4-1 after the first leg and Chelsea is behind Manchester City 2-0 heading into their second leg on Thursday. Barcelona won last year's final against Lyon.
