Ma'aden Company, the largest multi-commodity mining and metals company in the Middle East and one of the fastesr growing mining companies in the world, won the Community Participation and Partnerships Award at the third session of the Responsible Care Excellence Awards ceremony, which was held within the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) conference. in Bahrain.
The award comes in recognition of Maden... efforts in serving the community through the ..Schools of Excellence... initiative provided to students in the northern border region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is an opportunity to obtain a high-level education that enables them to enrol in the best universities in the Kingdom and abroad.
The Excellence Schools annually receive about 200 students, by providing modern and advanced facilities and infrastructure that include laboratories for English, chemistry, and biology, in addition to gyms and playgrounds. Ma'aden has invested about 170 million Saudi villages in developing schools since 2016 AD, which contributed to supporting more than 1,000 male and female students and graduating 636 students in a range of specializations such as medical sciences, engineering, nursing, and pharmacy since 2020 AD.
It is worth noting that the Schools of Excellence initiative is part of Ma'aden's social responsibility work and its efforts to contribute to providing a positive impact in its areas of operation, as it is committed to developing local communities, by providing job opportunities for local residents, improving training skills and developing the workforce in those areas.
