Riyadh, October 3, 2023, Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) has earned top honors at the Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility Awards (Arabia CSR Awards) for its outstanding contributions to the community through the "Scientific Schools of Excellence" initiative. This recognition underscores the initiative's significant impact on both education and society.
Since its inception in 2016, Ma'aden's commitment to establishing the Scientific Schools of Excellence in Arar and Tarif has been commendable. Collaborating with Dhahran Techno Valley Holding Company (DTVC), a subsidiary of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Ma'aden has played a pivotal role in shaping high-quality educational curricula designed to foster critical thinking, nurture talents, and enhance students' natural science capabilities. This empowers aspiring young individuals to pursue further education and meet the demands of national development and the job market.
Annually, the Excellence Schools admit 200 students, with support extending to over 1,200 students. Since 2020, more than 858 students have graduated from the program, and an impressive 569 have continued their educational journey at esteemed local and international universities, specializing in fields like engineering, mathematics, technology, medicine, nursing, and pharmacology.
Ma'aden's substantial investment of SR158 million in this initiative has not only enriched the educational landscape but has also created substantial growth opportunities for the communities surrounding the company's operations in the Northern Borders region.
