Makkah, April 17, 2024, The "Makkah Greets Us" event, held from April 11 to 15 in the Hira Cultural District, drew an impressive crowd of over 82,000 visitors representing 60 different nationalities.
This year marked the event's second season, featuring a diverse array of 13 recreational, cultural, and heritage activities designed to cater to all members of the family. The event's rich variety added depth to the experience of Makkah's residents and visitors during Eid Al-Fitr, showcasing the region's rich heritage, history, and culture. It also served as a platform for promoting social cohesion and creating a unique entertainment atmosphere suitable for all age groups.
Among the highlights were several cultural and recreational activities, including the Eid tent, Al-Noor Theater, Falcon Show, and the Sound and Light Show. The Road to Makkah exhibition provided insights into the historical and contemporary journey to Makkah, offering a glimpse into the past and present pilgrimage experience.
One of the event's key attractions was the Revelation exhibition, where innovative visual techniques were used to narrate the stories of prophets and the revelation of Islamic teachings, culminating in the story of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).
Additionally, the event featured a bustling market showcasing the work of artisans, along with a range of activities tailored for both children and adults, with exciting grand prizes awarded daily. Overall, "Makkah Greets Us" succeeded in creating a vibrant and engaging platform that celebrated Makkah's cultural richness while providing a memorable experience for attendees from diverse backgrounds.
