Aiming to improve technological and digital capabilities in the Makkah Route Initiative for 1445 AH in participating nations, including the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire through Felix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has set its sights on enhancing these capacities. The SDAIA directly supervised the construction of essential technological solutions to establish a digital infrastructure for the airport's pilgrims' hall, meeting the highest worldwide standards and requirements. This comprises the operation and control of "smart luggage" in order to assist pilgrims in navigating the admission procedures. The projects include both the strengthening and enhancement of capabilities related to artificial intelligence (AI) and the provision of ongoing assistance for digital transformation.
The overarching objective of these efforts is to provide the highest possible level of service to Allah's guests.The Makkah Route Initiative is one of the activities that fall under the Pilgrim Experience Program of Saudi Vision 2030, and it is managed by the Ministry of Interior. Many departments, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Media, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), the Saudi Development and Investment Authority (SDAIA), the Pilgrim Experience Program, and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, are involved in its execution.
