RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – 25 September 2023: Marriott International, Inc. has recently unveiled a groundbreaking partnership with NEOM, an ambitious mega-city project in Saudi Arabia, to establish two opulent properties in the captivating mountain enclave of Trojena. This development marks the introduction of Saudi Arabia's inaugural W Hotel, complemented by a JW Marriott establishment, promising an exceptional fusion of luxury, innovation, and unbridled exploration.
The agreement between Marriott International and NEOM has ignited great enthusiasm within the hospitality industry. Chadi Hauch, Regional Vice President of Lodging Development for the Middle East at Marriott International, expressed his excitement about the collaboration. He affirmed that the alignment of NEOM's visionary ethos, characterized by innovation, creativity, design, and exploration, with the distinct luxury paradigm offered by W Hotels, is the perfect synergy. In parallel, the JW Marriott brand, renowned for its legacy of exceptional hospitality, meticulous design, and transformative guest experiences, is set to elevate the Trojena experience.
The highly-anticipated W Hotel in Trojena is poised to feature a sumptuous array of 236 guest rooms, including 47 lavish suites. Each room promises uninterrupted vistas of the magnificent mountains and a serene freshwater lake. The hotel's architectural design is envisaged to incorporate signature W brand elements, such as the Living Room, WET Deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa, and FIT fitness center. Moreover, the hotel will boast four distinct dining venues and exclusive retail spaces. Situated within the Lake Village, Trojena's premier residential, hospitality, and commercial precinct, guests can look forward to an unparalleled experience set against a stunning 2.8-kilometer-long architectural lake. This enchanting destination will feature a captivating enchanted forest and an array of waterfront adventures. The Lake Village will also host diverse retail and dining options, fresh food and shopping markets, and engaging entertainment zones.
Meanwhile, the JW Marriott Hotel in Trojena will be an enclave of sophistication designed for discerning luxury travelers seeking a premium escape coupled with extraordinary service and holistic well-being experiences. Nestled within The Bow, a futuristic aquatic world merging nature with technology, this establishment will be immersed within the lake and embraced by a breathtaking mountain backdrop. The structural ingenuity of the substructure will enable it to withstand the weight and pressure of the surrounding water, while adaptable spaces, including an atrium suitable for hosting large-scale events, will cater to multi-season usage. Plans for this property encompass a grand total of 500 luxury rooms and suites, alongside an extensive selection of entertainment and recreational offerings. These include a capacious ballroom, versatile meeting spaces, five distinct dining venues, a fitness club, a children's club, inviting swimming pools, and a rejuvenating spa.
Philip Gullett, Executive Director of Trojena, has aptly emphasized that Trojena, with its central location, lofty mountain landscapes reaching up to 2,600 meters, and natural splendor, will redefine the paradigm of ultra-luxury hospitality and mountain tourism. This strategic collaboration with Marriott International, presenting the iconic brands of W Hotels and JW Marriott, is destined to elevate the travel experience for the discerning guests of Trojena.
Chris Newman, Executive Director of NEOM Hotel Development, elaborated on the significance of this partnership, highlighting how the JW Marriott and W Hotels brands are purposefully tailored to cater to the expectations of the next generation of luxury travelers. The JW Marriott, with its grandeur and sophistication, will play a pivotal role in positioning Trojena as a premier venue for global conferences, exhibitions, and high-profile events. Simultaneously, W Hotels will revolutionize the entertainment, culture, and culinary experiences available to visitors in this mountainous haven. Newman underscored the shared vision between NEOM and Marriott International in shaping a new frontier for the industry.
Trojena, a flagship project within the NEOM initiative, is envisaged as a year-round adventure sports destination, offering an array of activities such as skiing, water sports, hiking, and mountain biking. It is also set to be the host of the 2029 Asian Winter Games. In addition to the W Hotel and JW Marriott property, the development is slated to incorporate apartments, chalets, a diverse retail landscape, an array of dining options, and vibrant entertainment zones. As it unfolds, Trojena promises to be a veritable paradise for luxury travelers and adventure enthusiasts alike, reaffirming its status as a burgeoning jewel in the NEOM crown.
