Masam Project dismantles 719 mines in Yemen, achieving December milestone

Aden, January 01, 2023, In the final week of December 2023, the Masam Project, an initiative led by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) dedicated to mine clearance in Yemen, achieved a significant milestone by successfully dismantling a total of 719 mines. This noteworthy accomplishment includes the disposal of 2 anti-personnel mines, 102 anti-tank mines, and 615 unexploded ordnance.

Since its inception, the Masam Project has diligently worked towards its mission, resulting in the dismantling of a remarkable 426,809 mines. This ongoing effort is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment, represented by KSrelief, to clear Yemeni lands of all explosive devices that have tragically caused harm and casualties among innocent children, women, and the elderly.

The continuous dedication of the Masam Project reflects the Kingdom's humanitarian commitment to alleviating the suffering caused by the presence of landmines in Yemen, contributing to the broader goal of promoting peace and stability in the region.
