Jeddah, November 7, 2023, Mauritanian Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk praised the International Conference on Women in Islam hosted by Saudi Arabia. He noted that the Kingdom's leadership, including King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince, demonstrates a pioneering vision concerning crucial issues within the Islamic world. They are dedicated to safeguarding legitimate rights and freedoms, aligning with Islamic values. Their commitment extends to promoting social security, fostering harmony, enhancing integration among Islamic nations, and advancing overall well-being and sustainable development for their people.
Addressing the opening session of the International Conference on Women in Islam, themed "Status and Empowerment," organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) General Secretariat and hosted by Saudi Arabia from November 6 to 8 in Jeddah, the Mauritanian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of highlighting Islam's specific teachings regarding the honor and respect accorded to women.
He further emphasized that the empowerment of women in Islamic societies should be at the forefront of a strategic vision aimed at achieving the desired renaissance. This reflects the collective commitment to nurturing women's roles and contributions within Islamic communities.
