Mawan puts its plans into action to handle garbage and its administrative rules during the Hajj season.

Mawan launched its initiative to raise awareness regarding environment-friendly behaviors and reduce the production of waste during the Hajj season.

Since the beginning of the 1445 AH Hajj season and till the last day of the season, The National Waste Management Center, Mawan has been working and moving forward with its initiatives to enforce the trash management system and the administrative regulations entirely. There are a variety of activities that Mawan intends to carry out to assist pilgrims, raise awareness, and implant constructive behaviors in them. At the beginning of May, as part of the preparations for the center, monitoring and inspection teams went on inspection tours of 49 waste management facilities located in the Makkah and Madinah regions. These tours aimed to ensure adherence to all executive regulations and waste management system requirements.
In his remarks, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sebaei, the Chief Executive Officer of the center, mentioned that the objective of the 'Mawan' initiative during the Hajj season of this year is to raise awareness about environmentally friendly behaviors and compliance with waste management. "Our work aims at reducing the production of waste and limiting pollution of any kind and thus makes a colossal, positive difference to the environment," he added, noting that the center plans to carry out several initiatives during this year's Hajj season that will benefit pilgrims, make the best use of natural resources, and improve individual and societal health.
