"Milaha Gulf Express 2" (MGX-2) is a new shipping service that the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is now connected to multiple ports in China, India, Oman, and Qatar thanks to this new service.
In order to boost its competitiveness in the shipping sector and develop into a global hub for logistics, the King Abdulaziz Port is renovating and enlarging its facilities.

It is connected to this new service, called the "Milaha Gulf Express 2" (MGX-2) by the Qatari Navigation Company (Milaha). The realm ofThis route links the ports of China with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.This action aligns with the goals of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services, which seeks to elevate KAPD to the position of a transcontinental global logistics hub. The port will be able to strengthen its position and competitiveness among importers, exporters, and shipping brokers by putting this plan into action.By adding the MGX-2 service, KAPD has shown that it is becoming a more significant player in supporting the worldwide supply chain. This role is supported by the company's outstanding operational and logistical skills. With 43 completely furnished and equipped berths, the port can handle up to 105 million tons of freight and containers. The facility is outfitted with state-of-the-art machinery, numerous specialized stations, and eighty electric trucks to handle a broad range of goods.With the opening of the new shipping route, KAPD now has links with seven local ports as well as ports abroad. These ports are located in Hamad, Qatar; Sohar, Oman; Nhava Sheva and Mundra, India; and Ningbo, Shanghai, and Shekou, China. Up to 9,000 standard containers can be transported by the biweekly service.Twenty-one coastal and bridge cranes were delivered to the KAPD this year, which will help with the port's renovation and growth. These enhancements are a part of the KAPD's transition into a logistics hub that is sustainable and flexible, capable of handling large, modern ships with optimal productivity and efficiency.
