McLaren celebrates 60 years with extended anniversary festivities

In commemoration of McLaren's remarkable 60-year history, the company is extending its anniversary celebrations into its 60th year. To mark this significant milestone, McLaren is introducing a new range of options for all newly ordered series-production models. These options are designed to pay tribute to McLaren's historic achievement of winning motorsport's prestigious 'Triple Crown.'

The Triple Crown, which consists of victories in three of motorsport's most renowned races, was completed by McLaren 21 years after their initial triumph at the Indianapolis 500 in 1974. Following that victory, McLaren went on to secure the Monaco Grand Prix 15 times, setting a record for any Formula 1 constructor, with the last piece of the Triple Crown puzzle falling into place in 1995 when the F1 GTR won the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans.

To honor these achievements, McLaren is offering a set of 60th Anniversary themed features for the GT, Artura, and the all-new 750S supercar. These features include new exterior and interior elements that serve as a visual tribute to McLaren's Triple Crown success.

For the exterior, McLaren enthusiasts can choose from three distinct paint colors, each inspired by the victorious cars that contributed to the Triple Crown victories. Indy Orange is a vibrant solid color reminiscent of the 1974 Indy 500-winning M16D. Monaco White, another solid color option, draws inspiration from the predominantly white shade of the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix-winning MP4/2. Completing the trio is Le Mans Grey, a metallic option paying homage to the victorious F1 GTR from the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In addition to the paint choices, the Triple Crown Stripes can be added, running up the center of the bonnet and replicated on the rear wing. This exclusive option is available for 750S models, with just 60 sets produced, symbolizing each year of McLaren's history. The Triple Crown logo is prominently featured at the front, and the rear wing underside showcases further Triple Crown branding.

Furthermore, McLaren is offering two new 60th Anniversary brake caliper colors, Indy Blue and Le Mans Gold, inspired by the Indianapolis 500 win and the legendary McLaren F1 GTR, respectively. These caliper colors are available on 750S, GT, and Artura models.

For a personalized touch, cars with gloss carbon fiber door mirrors can be adorned with a 60th Anniversary 'Speedy Kiwi' logo in Orange or Silver, matching the new dedication plaque exclusively designed for vehicles equipped with these anniversary options.

Inside the cabin, the 60th Anniversary options continue with a painted steering wheel center line marker in Indy Orange, available for cars with a specified carbon fiber steering wheel. This marker can be complemented by extended carbon fiber painted gearshift paddles featuring stripes in the McLaren Triple Crown colors.

To complete the package, all cars ordered with any of the 60th Anniversary options will feature a new brushed aluminum bespoke dedication plaque. This plaque proudly displays the 60th Anniversary logo in McLaren Orange, incorporating a '60' within the iconic McLaren 'Speedy Kiwi' badge.

McLaren is making these exclusive 60th Anniversary options available for ordering across their series-production cars for one year, starting in November 2023. It's a fitting way for McLaren enthusiasts to celebrate the brand's rich history and the accomplishment of the Triple Crown.
