The Media International Forum, centered around "The Role of Media in Inciting Hatred and Violence – Risks of Misinformation and Bias," kicked off in Jeddah on Sunday. The prestigious event saw the participation of notable figures, including Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa and Minister Ahmed Assaf.
Prominent attendees included ministers, leaders from Islamic and international media, ambassadors, religious figures, and representatives from international organizations. The forum is a result of a robust collaboration between the Assistant Secretariat for Institutional Communication at the Muslim World League (MWL) and The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), operating with shared objectives.
During the opening session, journalists from Palestinian territories shared insights into the challenges they face amid Israeli aggression. A poignant short film underscored the media's dual role in shaping public opinion and societal awareness. Notably, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Assistant Secretariat for Institutional Communication at the MWL and UNA, solidifying their partnership.
