Media Ministry signs agreements at LEAP24 exhibition in Riyadh

Riyadh, March 04, 2024, In conjunction with the LEAP24 exhibition held in Riyadh, the Ministry of Media initiated a series of collaborative endeavors, marked by the signing of multiple agreements and memoranda of understanding with both domestic and international entities. The signing ceremony, presided over by Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, witnessed the formalization of these partnerships aimed at fostering innovation and advancing the media landscape.

Vice Minister of Media Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth led the signing of agreements, with prominent collaborations including a strategic partnership with Alibaba and Alibaba Cloud. This alliance seeks to cultivate specialized training programs tailored for media professionals, with a specific focus on leveraging AI and other cutting-edge technologies. Moreover, the agreements entail the hosting of essential ministry infrastructure, services, and platforms within Alibaba Cloud's data centers, encompassing critical components like the Disaster Recovery Center and the forthcoming edition of Saudipedia encyclopedia.

Furthermore, Al-Maghlouth inked an agreement with Cisco to elevate the Ministry's emergency and disaster response capabilities, alongside enhancing the infrastructure of its smart buildings. This collaboration entails the integration of AI methodologies into infrastructure development, implementation of advanced smart solutions across ministry facilities, and the organization of technical workshops by Cisco to bolster operational efficiency and augment the Ministry's human resources.

Among the notable collaborations, the Ministry also forged a partnership with the Chinese firm eWTPA, aimed at providing comprehensive training opportunities for both local and international journalists. This initiative extends full-fledged media support in Chinese, encompassing translation, broadcasting, and dissemination of news pertinent to the Saudi media landscape. Moreover, the agreement encompasses provisions for funding and facilitating reciprocal visits, fostering knowledge exchange and experiential sharing in the realms of entrepreneurship and media innovation.
