The MG Cyberster, a highly anticipated two-door pure electric sports car from MG Motor, won the prestigious and well-recognized "iF DESIGN AWARD" in the category of product user experience thanks to its specially built Cyber OS smart cockpit system. The Cyber OS was chosen from thousands of global entries and co-designed by SAIC Motor Design Center and Banma Zhixing's design team for electric sports cars.
The MG Cyberster, the company's first all-electric roadster, blends traditional British sports-car style with a contemporary cabin that is elevated by the Cyber OS. It was inspired by MG's illustrious racing background. The triple-screen smart cockpit system of the Cyber OS, which was created "for driving and fun," produces a rich driving experience. It fully utilizes the Unreal Engine, the top gaming engine in the world, to produce 3D real-time representations of the car and intuitively display the driving environment on the road, giving drivers an entirely interactive experience. The CyberOS makes use of the screens on the MG Cyberster to offer a variety of built-in display models to suit various user requirements, including the Super Sport mode, the pure and minimalist modes, and the next-generation driving aid view.
The MG Cyberster's innovative yoke steering wheel drew its inspiration from video games in recognition of the distinct driving position of a sports car, where the driver sits farther from the screen. It provides a creative way to handle the three screens that show all the driver information, infotainment controls, and driver-assistance technologies while also making driving enjoyable through the use of joysticks and buttons.
"The Cyber OS's win of the renowned 2023 "iF DESIGN AWARD" is the latest example of how we at MG are continuing to innovate and elevate global driving experiences," said Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor Middle East and North Africa. The MG Cyberster, one of our most eagerly anticipated vehicles both globally and in the area, stands for our unshakable dedication to leading the development of electric mobility. The MG Cyberster, which will join MG's pantheon of two-seater sports vehicles, is poised to become a defining landmark thanks to its futuristic look, unmatched interaction, and superb engineering. The MG Cyberster, which is scheduled to debut in the Middle East in the summer of 2024, will add to MG's long tradition of thrilling, captivating convertible sports cars.
