MG Motor's Cyberster to debut in Middle East during Centenary tour

MG Motor has announced that the highly-anticipated Cyberster model will be making its debut in the Middle East in January, as part of a unique transcontinental driving tour to celebrate the brand's Centenary. The Cyberster, inspired by MG's classic MGB model, features the latest automotive technology and electrifying innovation.

As part of MG's Centenary celebrations, the Cyberster's tour is a significant initiative that pays homage to MG's 100-year heritage of automotive excellence and innovation. The tour underscores MG's commitment to the Middle East and its dedication to introducing avant-garde electric mobility solutions to diverse markets worldwide.

The MG Cyberster is a flagship 2-door fully electric sports car, representing a blend of futuristic design and exhilarating performance. Designed by a collaboration between MG's London-based design studio and SAIC Design Centre Shanghai, the Cyberster features a distinctive low nose, curvaceous rear haunches, striking scissor doors, and a Kammback tail. It is available with a single-motor model with a 64 kWh battery capacity or a dual-motor model with a battery capacity of 77 kWh, with the most powerful variant capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h within 3.2 seconds.

The Cyberster embarked on its transcontinental journey from London's Westminster Bridge to Shanghai, China, in September 2023, driven by the Turner twins, professional adventurers Ross and Hugo Turner. The journey aims to explore the world with purpose and innovation, sharing the MG experience and fostering a new era of electrifying exploration.

During its tour in the Middle East from January 14th to February 19th, the Cyberster will visit major cities in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman. The road trip itinerary includes special stopovers at local landmarks, showcasing the MG Cyberster's capabilities and highlighting the Middle East's readiness for electric vehicles.

Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor's Middle East operations, expressed excitement about the Cyberster's venture across the region, highlighting its significance as the brand pays homage to its 100-year anniversary. The journey also serves as a milestone in demonstrating the Middle East's preparedness for electric vehicles and showcasing the vintage-inspired Cyberster's capabilities to communities and enthusiasts in the region.
