The Ministry of Media and Microsoft Arabia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in several areas.
The alliance will focus on solutions related to data analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, security and privacy, and software and service development.
The objective is the betterment of media output at the domestic level of Saudi Arabia, using the medium of artificial intelligence in the media field.
Riyadh, May 29, 2024. Today, in Riyadh, the Ministry of Media and Microsoft Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual cooperation in several diversified fields of endeavor. Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlooth, Assistant Minister of Media, and Zia Mansoor, Executive Vice President of Data and Artificial Intelligence at Microsoft, both attended the signing event. The firm's representative was Engineer Bassem Al-Hazmi, who is the General Manager of Digital Transformation and Information Technology as well as the General Manager of Cybersecurity at the Ministry of Media. Additionally, Microsoft Arabia President Turki Badhris was also there to represent the company.
The areas of collaboration include the technical aspects of data analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, security and privacy solutions, as well as software and service development solutions. To support the Ministry of Media's long-term objectives, the objective is to improve the quality of local media production while also keeping up with developments occurring around the world.It is the intention of this memorandum to improve the media business of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which will enable it to make a contribution to the economy of the region while also benefiting from developments in artificial intelligence and the various applications of this technology in the field of media.
