Riyadh, October 04, 2023, In a significant event held under the auspices of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, inaugurated the UPU Strategy Summit, which brought together representatives from 192 countries, including ministers, ambassadors, and leaders of postal sectors.
Eng. Al-Jasser expressed his satisfaction at the gathering of influential decision-makers at the summit, which aimed to propel progress and innovation within the postal industry. He emphasized the potential growth opportunities and the importance of meticulous planning to ensure the industry's sustained development and viability.
In his address, he outlined ambitious goals for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aiming to rank among the top ten countries in the Logistics Performance Index by 2030. To achieve this objective, Saudi Arabia plans to establish 59 logistics zones and expand port capacity to accommodate over 40 million containers, setting a clear path for industry advancement and growth.
