Riyadh, October 19, 2023, During his participation in the 25th session of the UN World Tourism Organization (WTO) General Assembly in Uzbekistan's Samarkand City, Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb engaged in productive discussions with various counterparts. These meetings included talks with Uzbekistan's Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Aziz Abdukhakimov, focused on bolstering bilateral relations and addressing mutual interests in the tourism sector.
Furthermore, Al-Khateeb met with Morocco's Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, to explore collaborative strategies in the pursuit of shared tourism objectives aligned with WTO goals.
The minister's encounter with Argentina's Secretary of Tourism Promotion, Yanina Martinez, centered on the potential for sustainable tourism support and the strengthening of connections between the Middle East and South America.
Additionally, meetings with Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism, Ezzatollah Zarghami, and Brazil's Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino de Oliveira, revolved around enhancing regional relationships and advancing the standards of tourism education. These interactions underline the importance of international cooperation and shared efforts within the tourism sector.
