Riyadh, September 18, 2023, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, has begun an official visit to the People's Republic of China, where he will hold a series of meetings with investors and visit companies and factories in a number of Chinese cities. The minister will also lead the Saudi Arabian delegation to the China-Arab summit as the country's guest of honor. The visit is meant to discuss a variety of issues of interest to the two countries, particularly in the industry and mining sectors, and to expand the aspects of strategic cooperation. Al-Khorayef is accompanied by a delegation including the President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Eng. Khalid Al-Salem, the Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs, Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer, and several leaders of the industry and mineral resources. In Beijing, Al-Khorayef met with Jin Zhuanglong, China's Minister of Industry and Information Technology, to discuss ways to strengthen ties between the two countries' industrial sectors through increased collaboration, knowledge sharing, and investment possibilities. He also spoke with Chinese Minister of Natural Resources Wang Guanghua and President of China Geological Survey Li Jinfa about mining's prospects and problems, with the goal of strengthening cooperation to boost the sector's growth rates. Al-Khorayef also met with Peng Qiming, president of the China Mining Association, to talk about how the two countries might work together to improve their economies and build up their mining infrastructure. In addition, he conferred with various government representatives about potential collaborations between Aramco and other chemical and petroleum businesses.
