Minister Al-Swaha emphasizes Kingdom's Vision 2030, empowering youth, women, reducing digital gap

Riyadh, August 19, 2023, In a recent statement, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha emphasized the significant impact of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 on enhancing its prominent position and competitiveness. This ambitious vision aims to empower the nation's youth and women while also laying the foundation for a sustainable future driven by technology and innovation. During his address at the G20 Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting in India, Al-Swaha emphasized the immense potential of the digital economy as a catalyst for economic growth. He highlighted its role as the primary driver of job creation and the emergence of innovative business models. According to the speaker, a staggering 2.7 billion individuals worldwide still lack access to the internet. In order to bridge this digital divide, a global effort is needed to recruit a massive workforce of 4 million data scientists and 4 million cybersecurity professionals.

In a recent address, the minister emphasized the commendable efforts undertaken by the Kingdom, resulting in a significant reduction of the digital gap not only within its borders but also among three other G20 nations. The remarkable achievement has led to a mere 1% disparity in digital accessibility, showcasing the Kingdom's commitment to bridging the divide in the digital realm. In a recent statement, he highlighted Saudi Arabia's remarkable achievement in addressing the global issue of the digital divide. The country has emerged as a trailblazer by effectively reaching an impressive 99% of its population through digital infrastructure, setting a pioneering example for the rest of the world. Notably, Saudi Arabia has also achieved the significant milestone of establishing the first connection through non-terrestrial networks, further solidifying its position as a leader in bridging the digital gap. In a recent statement, he revealed that the Kingdom has successfully unveiled the largest virtual hospital globally, employing cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology to deliver state-of-the-art medical services. He also commended the Kingdom's Vision 2030, highlighting its significant contribution to the empowerment of both youth and women. Notably, the Kingdom has achieved remarkable progress in empowering women, witnessing a substantial increase from 7% to an impressive 33% in the technical sector. This achievement surpasses the average rates observed in both the G20 and EU, underscoring the Kingdom's commitment to gender equality and inclusivity.

In a recent statement, Al-Swaha, a prominent figure in the Kingdom, shed light on the noteworthy sustainable initiatives and endeavors taking place in the region. Notably, he emphasized the significance of the Red Sea project's colossal battery storage facility, boasting an impressive capacity of 1.3 GWh. Additionally, he highlighted the employment of cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence in conducting extensive marine surveys aimed at safeguarding the precious coral reefs. During the minister's address, he also delved into the numerous pivotal moments ushered in by artificial intelligence. It is projected that this cutting-edge technology will generate an astounding economic value of $1 trillion globally in the present year alone, with estimations soaring to a staggering $14 trillion by the year 2030. In a commendation of the Indian presidency's endeavors, the individual lauded the G20 Digital Economy Working Group and its initiatives pertaining to public digital infrastructure. Emphasizing the Kingdom's unwavering determination, they expressed a commitment to persistently pursue opportunities in the 21st century and contribute to global efforts to overcome challenges within the digital economy.
