Riyadh, December 13, 2023, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, highlighted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leadership in generative artificial intelligence (AI) during a panel session at the Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC). He emphasized that as a member of the Group of Twenty (G20), Saudi Arabia is taking the initiative and leading in the field of generative AI, under the direct attention and leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Al-Swaha stated that the Kingdom's AI portfolio is receiving full support from HRH the Crown Prince, and Saudi Arabia is taking a comprehensive approach to AI initiatives. This approach includes the region's first generative AI early-stage accelerator program and the region's largest business accelerator, Garage.
During the panel session titled "Rehabilitating Workforce to Address Future Technological Advancements," Minister Al-Swaha also emphasized the leadership's commitment to investing in national human resources through skill development programs. These programs receive direct leadership from HRH the Crown Prince, reflecting a strategic focus on preparing the workforce for the challenges and opportunities presented by future technological advancements.
