Minister Alibrahim underscores Saudi's role in global economic development and discourse

Islamabad, April 27, 2024, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim emphasized Saudi Arabia's role in creating various development opportunities and serving as a global platform for international discussions, particularly in the economic domain.

During the World Economic Forum's (WEF) special meeting themed "Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development," Alibrahim highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to addressing major global challenges under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Alibrahim stated, "Since the inception of the Saudi Vision in 2016, Saudi Arabia has continuously tackled significant global social, economic, and humanitarian issues, demonstrating its international responsibility." He noted the current global landscape marked by substantial changes, presenting both challenges and opportunities across economies, societies, and industries.

The special meeting, according to Alibrahim, focuses on three critical areas crucial for long-term progress: international cooperation, growth, and sustainable energy development. He stressed the urgency of fostering growth, creating an inclusive global economy that benefits every nation, and investing in human capital as a key driver of progress.

Highlighting the importance of responsible energy production and consumption, Alibrahim emphasized the need for equitable access to energy resources, particularly clean and renewable sources. He emphasized the imperative for cultural and ideological convergence, stressing the collective responsibility to work towards peace and prosperity.

Alibrahim urged participants to leverage the meeting to unlock collective potential, commit to shared responsibilities, promote international cooperation, and pave the way for new growth engines that empower future generations. This reflects Saudi Arabia's proactive stance in fostering global collaboration and sustainable development.
