Minister Alkhorayef concludes Saudi delegation's visit for Joint Committee session in Tunisia

Tunisia, December 28, 2023, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef, has concluded his visit to Tunisia, where he led the Saudi delegation at the 11th session of the Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee. During his time in Tunis, Minister Alkhorayef co-chaired the Saudi-Tunisian Investment and Partnership Forum and engaged in meetings with high-ranking officials in Tunisia, including President Kais Saied.

At Carthage Palace, Alkhorayef and President Saied discussed plans to expand cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia, aiming to fulfill the mutual interests of both countries, strengthen their ties, and capitalize on promising opportunities across various sectors.

The minister also met with Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani at the Government Palace in Tunis to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation, particularly in vital sectors such as industry, tourism, and investment. Discussions revolved around the advantages that stimulate investors in both countries and opportunities for mutual development.

During the 11th session of the Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee, Alkhorayef delivered a speech expressing the Kingdom's aspiration to become a significant partner in Tunisia's economic progress. He emphasized the exploration of investment opportunities and collaboration with the private sector to contribute to the growth of trade exchange.

On the sidelines of the committee session, Alkhorayef and Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia, Minister of Finance and Interim Minister of Economy and Planning, signed seven memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in various fields to enhance cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

Alkhorayef chaired a meeting for the Tunisian-Saudi Business Council, attended by numerous business representatives from both Saudi Arabia and Tunisia. He highlighted the abundant opportunities for a comprehensive partnership with Tunisia during the Saudi-Tunisian Investment and Partnership Forum, emphasizing the shared vision of both leaderships for achieving economic diversity in industries, renewable energy, agriculture, and increasing trade exchange and exports.

In separate meetings, Alkhorayef explored collaboration in the water sector with Abdel Monem Belati, Tunisian Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fishing. He also discussed increasing bilateral trade exchange with Kalthoum Ben Rejeb, Tunisian Minister of Trade and Export Development, and expanding cooperation in the industry and mining sectors with Ahlam Al-Baji Al-Sayeb, responsible for the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy.

Minister Alkhorayef's visit to Tunisia deepened the strategic partnership, activated cooperation mechanisms, and enhanced investment opportunities between the two countries.
