Riyadh, February 28, 2024, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, inaugurated the Strategy for Developing Human Capability in the Industrial and Mining Sectors and the National Academy for Industry during the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) Conference. The conference, held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, took place at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Center in Riyadh on February 28 and 29.
The primary objective of the strategy is to attract, develop, and empower talents within the industrial and mining sectors. It aims to foster an appealing work culture and a supportive work environment while simultaneously enhancing productivity and innovation. This strategic initiative is in alignment with the overarching goals of the National Strategy for Industry and the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Complementing the strategy, the National Academy for Industry is set to offer a range of training programs catering to both experienced professionals and recent graduates. The academy is committed to supporting existing training institutes, providing incentives, and facilitating partnerships. Addressing industry challenges and bridging gaps in the sector, the academy will play a pivotal role in coordinating efforts for the development of industrial human capital. Collaboration with diverse training providers is expected to result in the delivery of 18 specialized programs.
The launch of these initiatives underscores the Kingdom's commitment to fostering a skilled and empowered workforce in line with its broader economic and industrial development objectives. The Strategy for Developing Human Capability and the establishment of the National Academy for Industry reflect a concerted effort to propel the industrial and mining sectors forward, contributing to the overall realization of Vision 2030.
