Minister Alkhorayef inaugurates Siemens factory in Jeddah's MODON Oasis

Riyadh, February 29, 2024, The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, officially inaugurated the Siemens Electrical Equipment factory in the MODON Oasis in Jeddah. The inauguration ceremony, attended by various dignitaries, marked a significant development in the Kingdom's industrial landscape.

The factory, sprawling over 6,000 square meters, is strategically positioned in the MODON Oasis and is dedicated to the production of cutting-edge medium-voltage electrical equipment. This includes control systems for substations, communication and protection panels, and various other critical products aimed at bolstering the provision of safe and reliable energy across sectors such as facilities, oil and gas, energy, infrastructure, and petrochemicals.

Employing approximately 120 individuals, the Siemens factory is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting the local economy. It is designed not only as a manufacturing hub but also as an innovation center contributing to the transfer of knowledge and technology within the Kingdom. The facility will implement training and employment programs aimed at developing Saudi talent.

Khaled Al-Juffali, Chairman of Juffali and member of the Board of Directors of the Arabian Electrical Equipment Company and Siemens Company in the Kingdom, expressed pleasure in opening the new facility in Jeddah. He emphasized their commitment to the economic development plan of Saudi Arabia, aiming to build partnerships, support talent development, and contribute to the Kingdom's sustainability goals.

Ahmed Hawsawi, CEO of Siemens in Saudi Arabia, highlighted that the factory in Jeddah is not just a manufacturing facility but an innovation center addressing the Kingdom's increasing demand for energy solutions. He emphasized that through the use of modern Siemens technologies, the Kingdom is poised to witness unprecedented improvements in the efficiency and flexibility of energy systems. The Siemens Electrical Equipment factory represents a notable collaboration between the private sector and government entities, contributing to the Kingdom's economic diversification and development goals.
