Tokyo, December 18, 2023, The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, recently conducted an official visit to Japan, where he held discussions with officials at the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC).
During the meeting, Minister Alkhorayef highlighted the strategic cooperation potential between the organizations, focusing on facilitating the supply of mineral resources to Japanese industries. He emphasized the abundant mineral wealth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which includes various essential metals crucial for advanced industries. The minister underscored the competitive advantages that position Saudi Arabia as a potential hub for mineral production.
In addition to the discussions, Minister Alkhorayef extended an invitation to officials from JOGMEC to participate in the upcoming third edition of the International Mining Conference, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from January 9 to 11, 2024. This conference provides a platform for global collaboration and knowledge exchange in the mining sector, fostering partnerships and exploring opportunities for further cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Japan in the mineral resources domain.
