Hajj Minister Announces Pilgrims Easy Ascension to Arafat

- More than 1.8 million pilgrims from over 200 countries participated in the Hajj season, with 221,854 pilgrims originating from Saudi Arabia.

The successful pilgrimage required a comprehensive operation of the Al-Mashaaer Al-Mugaddassah metro line, more than 20,000 buses and a workforce of 100,000 people.




About 1.8 million pilgrims from over 200 countries participated in the Hajj season, including 221,854 Saudis.




On June 16, 2024, Arafat's Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah marks the pilgrims in his capacity as minister for Hajj and Umrah for their safe journey from Mecca and Mina to Arafate.To this success, a comprehensive operation was required, including the Al-Mashaaer Al-Mugaddassah Metro Line, more than 20,000 buses and a dedicated workforce of 100,000 people, including drivers, field leaders and dispatch teams. Thanks to the effective operation, all pilgrims arrived at Arafat at 10:30 this morning. At a press conference in Arafat, Al-Rabiah underscored the ministry's commitment to providing first-class service to pilgrims. Teams that constantly evaluate and monitor the services ensure the best possible comfort and pleasure. Al-Rabiah says that more than 1.8 million pilgrims attended the Hajj season 1445 AH. These pilgrims represented over 200 different countries. 221,854 people were from Saudi Arabia, 52% men and 48% women. As part of the ministry plan, the pilgrims are now to be led to Muzdalifah by one and all after the successful conduct of the celebrations in Arafat.Al-Rabiah thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the guardian of the two holy mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulazis Al saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for their tireless support in ensuring that pilgrims can have the most enjoyable experience. He praised the joint efforts of all parties involved, in particular the interior ministry's "No Hajj Without Permit" campaign. This initiative has helped to reduce the Hajj presence without permission by success. In addition, the Minister praised the effective implementation of the "Nusuk Card" programme. More than two million maps, each containing important information, including pilgrimage details, availability of accommodation and service providers, were issued by the project. The service, guidance and identification of permitted pilgrims have been significantly improved by this new instrument. The map system is supervised by a specialized technical staff of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. This person is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the data in real time.
