
Riyadh, December 7, 2024 – The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) executive committee's foundation board concluded its important two-day meeting today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Held under the patronage of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the meeting brought together key stakeholders from the global sports and anti-doping communities to discuss critical updates and strategic initiatives for the future of clean sport.
The session was organized by the Saudi Ministry of Sports and chaired by WADA President Witold Bańka. It served as a platform for in-depth discussions on a range of pressing issues impacting the global anti-doping landscape. Among the key topics addressed were the latest international policies and trends regarding anti-doping efforts, the development of enhanced enforcement mechanisms to ensure the integrity of sports, and the ongoing efforts to evolve and strengthen the global anti-doping framework.
A focal point of the meeting was the strategic planning for WADA’s activities for the years 2025 to 2029. The foundation board engaged in comprehensive deliberations to outline the future direction of the organization, focusing on improving the effectiveness of anti-doping measures across the world. As part of these discussions, WADA's leadership also presented and endorsed the budget for 2025, ensuring the necessary resources are in place to support the organization’s ambitious goals and objectives in the coming years.
