Helsinki, May 14, 2024, The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, met with the Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs, Wille Rydman, in the presence of the Saudi Ambassador to Finland, Nisreen bint Hamad Al-Shibel, and the accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed several common interests between the two countries in economic and developmental fields. Following that, he visited the Finnish Parliament and met with the head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group to explore opportunities for joint cooperation and underscored the significance of the transport and logistics sector in bolstering other industries. They also assessed the notable achievements of the transport and logistics sector in the Kingdom and the objectives outlined in the national strategy for transport and logistics services. Additionally, he met with the Finnish Minister of Transport and Communications, Lulu Ranne, to deliberate on avenues for enhancing cooperation in the transport and logistics domain between the two nations. Their talks encompassed strengthening partnerships in maritime and air transport, advancements in transport technologies, and the establishment of smart ports. Moreover, they addressed the prospect of mutual recognition of sailors' certificates between the two countries.
