Minister of Transportation and Logistic Services Opens Modern Technologies and Verifies Hajj Season Preparations

- The minister unveiled several modern technologies including a command-and-control center, mobile control room, taxi application, automated vehicle monitoring technology, and mobile inspection stations for vehicles.

- The minister visited various facilities including the operations center, bus terminal, Haramain High-Speed Railway terminal, Jeddah Islamic Port, security control center, and media center.

The 6th of June, 2024, Makkah: Today, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, conducted a field visit to the Makkah Region to assess the readiness for the Hajj season, set to commence in 1445 AH. Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and Ahmed bin Sufyan Al-Hassan, Assistant Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, accompanied the minister. Both of these individuals worked with the minister. The tour will showcase and utilize a variety of innovative technologies designed to assist pilgrims. In order to get a better understanding of the airport, the minister visited the operations center, the bus terminal, and the Haramain High-Speed Railway terminal at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. In addition to the Jeddah Islamic Port and the security control center in Al Nawariya, he visited the media center that is located within the Hajj and Umrah lounge complex.


The minister unveiled several modern technologies, including the command-and-control center at Jeddah Islamic Port; the mobile control room, which helps to improve compliance with regulations and requirements while also improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims; and the taxi application, which provides multiple modes of transportation by modern vehicles equipped with the best services and multiple payment methods, including electronic payment. He also introduced an automated vehicle monitoring system, which has an accuracy of 99% in determining the type of vehicle. Besides, he introduced technical inspection equipment to the side of the road by using mobile stations, which assist in inspecting vehicles on time and in an accurate way.
