Makkah, March 13, 2024, Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, has issued directives to heighten inspection tours of tourist accommodation facilities, including hotels and serviced apartments, in Makkah and Madinah during the sacred month of Ramadan.
This initiative is part of the "Our Guests Are a Priority" campaign, which aims to ensure adherence to tourism regulations and enhance the quality of services provided to Umrah pilgrims.
Accompanied by ministry officials, the tourism minister recently conducted inspections of tourist accommodation facilities in Makkah and Madinah, emphasizing the objectives of the "Our Guests Are a Priority" campaign.
With the commencement of the Umrah season in Ramadan, the ministry's supervisory teams conducted a total of 468 monitoring and inspection rounds in Makkah's hospitality facilities, uncovering over 278 violations. Similarly, in Madinah, at least 214 monitoring and inspection tours were carried out, revealing more than 125 violations.
Key violations included operating without proper licensing, inadequate service and maintenance standards, and failure to display price lists in Arabic and English.
These supervisory and inspection activities align with the Ministry of Tourism's pivotal role in serving visitors and pilgrims, both domestic and international, by ensuring the provision of top-quality services and facilitating a seamless and comfortable experience during their rituals. Collaboration with relevant government authorities further strengthens these efforts.
The ministry also encourages visitors and Umrah pilgrims to share their feedback on the services provided by contacting the Visitor Care Center at 930 or through official ministry channels on various social media platforms.
