Riyadh, October 25, 2023, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, underscored the enduring support of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the Palestinian cause. He emphasized that the GCC has consistently stood by the Palestinian people, condemning hostile policies and actions against them. This unwavering support aligns with the central issue for Saudi Arabia, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to championing the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
Addressing the 9th meeting of GCC Ministers for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf in Muscat, Oman, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh emphasized that the Palestinian cause transcends the borders of Palestine itself. It is a matter that unites not only Palestinians but the entire Islamic and Arab world, as well as humanity at large. Sheikh Al-Sheikh stressed the need to prioritize this issue in our collective consciousness and religious dialogues. He also highlighted the importance of guiding young individuals to align their personal views with their government's official stances, recognizing that leaders are better equipped to navigate such complex matters.
Within the context of the meeting's discussions, the protection of religious, moral, and family values within GCC societies took center stage. Sheikh Al-Sheikh acknowledged the significance of this topic, particularly in an era of rapid technological advancement that has eroded barriers between nations and cultures. He pointed out the forces actively working to disconnect individuals and societies from their cherished values and beliefs, utilizing various explicit and implicit methods to encourage a deviation from noble principles.
Sheikh Al-Sheikh stressed the pivotal role of the ministries of Islamic and religious affairs and awqaf in nurturing young minds with strong values, morals, and a profound understanding of the Islamic faith.
