On August 6, 2024, the 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Islamic Countries was held in Makkah.
The conference featured a number of panels covering subjects like the risks associated with atheism, the role of endowments at the Al-Aqsa mosque, the importance of GDP to societies, and the developmental benefits of endowment funds. Ministers and officials from several nations discussed their experiences and underlined the value of extending and bolstering endowment work, keeping an eye on social media, and using lobbying and education to fight atheism.
August 6, 2024, Makkah day. The meetings that had been underway continued on the second day of the 9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs in Islamic Countries. The Sultanate of Oman's Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Bin Said Al Mamari, presided over the seventh session, which was centered on the function endowments play at the Al-Aqsa mosque and the developmental contributions of endowment funds.However, as a key measure of the health of the economy, Dr. Al Mamari emphasized the importance of the GDP to societies. He underlined the significance of promoting and contributing to GDP in order to achieve national objectives, sustained growth, prosperity, and overall national stability. He also stressed the significance of economic expansion. The General Authority of Awqaf's Deputy Governor, Abdulrahman Mohammed Alogayyel, of Saudi Arabia, spoke about his expertise with endowment care, including the creation of the authority. This organization's efforts to further and support endowment work in a range of disciplines.The eighth session was chaired by Dr. Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed, the Minister of Awqaf for Syria. Badaruddin Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs for Brunei Darussalam, stressed the importance of investing in social media's rapid development while being aware of the risks involved. In order to safeguard it from those who propagate false ideologies that could endanger society, he argued for oversight and surveillance.The ninth session was led by Egypt's Minister of Endowments, The result was that it became a poison for all people who lived in society because education has power and it also makes him/her better suited to preventing other people from falling into atheism. Therefore, coming together we can develop strategies for addressing intolerance; including actions like nobody’s remains unaffected by it! Hence Osama Al-Azhari gave lecture on problems faced by atheists. The purpose of his talk was to make people more aware of this issue, its risks and possible remedies. According to Arun Boonchom president of Islamic Affairs Committee (Bangkok), atheism has negative impacts on society and even nations themselves; therefore combating intolerance is needed very badly. He also mentioned the importance of advocacy and educating bodies.
