Addis Ababa, March 17, 2024, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Kingdom's Embassy in Ethiopia, collaborated with the Women’s Daleel Center for Quran Education in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital, to host an awards ceremony celebrating the victors of the inaugural Women's Quran Competition. This event coincided with the commencement of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' initiatives, which entail the distribution of dates and provision of Iftar meals to fasting individuals, spearheaded by the ministry in Ethiopia.
Approximately 300 female participants engaged in preliminary rounds across five levels of competition. The first level encompassed 30 parts (Juz’), followed by subsequent levels covering 20, 15, 10, and 5 parts, respectively. Each level saw the recognition of three students as winners, each receiving prizes valued at over SAR 25,000.
This competition represents a facet of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs' overseas programs, designed to foster reverence for the Holy Quran, disseminate its teachings, and bolster support for its memorizers.
