Addis Ababa, March 27, 2024, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance recently orchestrated Iftar banquets at the Islamic Council Mosque in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as part of their Ramadan initiatives. These banquets are designed to cater to 500 fasting individuals daily and will run throughout the holy month, ultimately providing a total of 15,000 meals to beneficiaries.
Saud bin Matiliq Al-Ghuwairi, the religious attaché at the Kingdom’s embassy in Ethiopia, highlighted the significance of this program to the Saudi government. He emphasized that such initiatives are given high priority due to their substantial impact on serving Islam and Muslims, particularly during Ramadan, a sacred month for fasting and spiritual reflection.
The Iftar banquets not only fulfill a practical need by providing nourishment to those fasting but also symbolize a gesture of solidarity and community support. By organizing these events at a prominent mosque in Addis Ababa, the Ministry aims to foster a sense of unity and compassion among Muslims and demonstrate the Kingdom's commitment to serving the global Muslim community.
