Kosovo, March 16, 2024, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Kingdom's Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, embarked today on the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Gift Programs aimed at distributing dates and providing Iftar meals to fasting individuals in the Republic of Kosovo during the sacred month of Ramadan for the year 1445 Hijri.
The initiative unfolded at Aladdin Secondary School in the capital city of Pristina, where 5 tons of dates were distributed, extending assistance to approximately 20,000 Muslim men and women.
The event saw the presence of notable dignitaries including the Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Albania, Faisal bin Ghazi Hifiz, and the Religious Attaché at the Kingdom's Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sheikh Amer bin Banwan Al-Anzi. Also in attendance were the Grand Mufti and Leader of the Islamic Community in Kosovo, Sheikh Naim Tërnava, along with several officials from the Islamic Community and esteemed Islamic and media personalities.
In his address during the inauguration, Ambassador Faisal Hifiz emphasized the significance of these two programs as distinguished seasonal initiatives reflecting the Saudi government's unwavering commitment to addressing the needs of Muslims during Ramadan and easing the hardships faced by those in need. He underscored the depth of the relationships and the robust ties between the two countries, reaffirming the Kingdom's continuous support to its brothers worldwide.
In response, the Grand Mufti and Leader of the Islamic Community in Kosovo expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for their honorable and continuous support towards their Muslim brethren in Kosovo. Sheikh Naim Tërnava highlighted the historical solidarity of the Kingdom with the Kosovar people, providing them with material, political, and moral support across various domains. He acknowledged the Kingdom's ongoing generosity through these programs, extending gratitude to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for its support and cooperation with the Islamic Community in implementing several programs that aid Muslims in Kosovo. Additionally, he invoked blessings from Allah Almighty upon the leadership of the Kingdom for their efforts in serving Islam and Muslims, particularly the Muslims of Kosovo.
