NEOM, September 11, 2024 — Today, the Ministry of Interior launched the Smart Gates Project at NEOM Bay Airport. This initiative, a collaboration between the General Directorate of Passports, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and NEOM, is designed to streamline passenger processing by enabling biometric data scanning at self-service kiosks. This project aligns with Saudi Arabia's broader goal of enhancing the quality of life through advanced digital solutions across its cities. The event was attended by several key figures, including Prince Dr. Bandar bin Abdullah bin Mishari, Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs; Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of SDAIA; Lieutenant General Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, Director General of Passports; Dr. Esam bin Abdullah Al-Wagait, SDAIA National Information Center Director; and Eng. Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM.
