Riyadh, April 13, 2024, The Ministry of Interior has reported the outcomes of recent campaigns aimed at identifying individuals who violate residency, labor, and border security regulations across all regions of the Kingdom from April 4 to 10, 2024. The results are as follows:
- Out of a total of 20,667 violators, 14,805 were found to have violated the Residency Law, 3,860 breached the Border Security Law, and 2,002 contravened the Labor Law.
- Among the 959 individuals apprehended while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom illegally, 44% were Yemeni nationals, 53% were Ethiopians, and 3% belonged to other nationalities. Additionally, 58 individuals were arrested for attempting to leave the country illegally.
- Furthermore, nine individuals involved in transporting, sheltering, employing, or concealing violators of the aforementioned laws were arrested.
- Of the 63,087 expatriates scrutinized for compliance with regulations, 58,708 were men, and 4,379 were women.
- As part of the campaign, 54,732 violators were referred to their respective diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 2,828 were required to complete their travel reservations, and 6,271 were deported.
The Ministry of Interior has issued a stern warning that anyone facilitating the illegal entry, transport, shelter, or provision of any assistance or service to individuals entering the Kingdom illegally may face severe penalties, including up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SAR1 million. The ministry emphasizes that such actions are considered serious crimes warranting arrest.
Additionally, the ministry urges individuals to report any violations by contacting emergency numbers: 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and 999 and 996 in other parts of the Kingdom. These measures underscore the government's commitment to upholding security and enforcing regulations to maintain law and order in the country.
