Ministry of Islamic Affairs Holds Scientific Course for Imams, Preachers in Djibouti

Scientific Course for Religious Leaders: Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Islamic Affairs held the second scientific course for imams and preachers in Djibouti, aimed at promoting religious knowledge and values of moderation.

Riyadh, December 09, 2024 – The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance of Saudi Arabia recently concluded the second scientific course for imams and preachers in the Republic of Djibouti. The event, which was organized through the religious attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Djibouti, marks a significant step in fostering greater religious understanding and promoting values of moderation within the Islamic community.

Held under the esteemed patronage of Djibouti's Minister of Islamic Affairs, Moumin Hassan Barreh, the course aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of religious leaders, providing them with tools to better serve their communities. The course was attended by a distinguished group of religious leaders, including the Saudi Ambassador to Djibouti, Faisal Al-Qabbani, and the heads of several key Islamic societies and centers in the country.

The course focused on instilling the principles of moderation, tolerance, and peace—values that are at the heart of Saudi Arabia's religious diplomacy and broader vision for the Islamic world. These values align with the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to promote a message of harmony and mutual respect, which has been a cornerstone of its foreign policy and religious outreach.

In his remarks, Minister Moumin Hassan Barreh emphasized the importance of education for imams and preachers in fostering a balanced and inclusive approach to Islam. He highlighted the critical role these leaders play in shaping the social and spiritual fabric of their communities, noting that the course serves as an invaluable resource in equipping them with the knowledge and expertise needed to combat extremism and promote peaceful coexistence.

Saudi Arabia, through its Ministry of Islamic Affairs, continues to play an active role in enhancing religious dialogue and cooperation among Muslim communities worldwide. This initiative is a part of the Kingdom's broader effort to strengthen ties with various countries in the Islamic world, providing support in areas such as religious education and the promotion of Islamic values that contribute to global peace and stability.

The successful conclusion of the second scientific course in Djibouti underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering positive relationships with Muslim-majority nations and encouraging the spread of moderation and tolerance. This initiative is an important step in the Kingdom's long-standing efforts to share its knowledge and support the broader Islamic community in achieving a more peaceful and inclusive future.
