Ministry of Islamic Affairs judges King Abdulaziz International Competition qualifiers

Makkah, August 29, 2023, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance attended the fourth day of the 43rd session, where the committee judged the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the memorization, recitation, and interpretation of the Holy Qur'an final qualifiers. 26 candidates participated in these sessions, with 12 reciting in the morning and 14 in the evening at Makkah's Grand Holy Mosque. With these additions, there are now 84 competitors in all. Tomorrow morning, the tournament will resume with recitations from competitors from various categories and nations. The judging panel heard recitations from competitors from a variety of nations during the morning session, including Algeria, Palestine, Qatar, Senegal, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Guinea, Central Africa, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Benin, and Guyana. Kenya, Chad, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sweden, Madagascar, Réunion, Morocco, Algeria, Djibouti, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Nepal, and Germany were among the nations that took the stage in the evening. The candidates' outstanding recitations during the competition's final qualifiers—which span five distinct categories—were praised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. Leaders from the Islamic world have praised this event, and it has received a lot of media coverage. This prominent worldwide competition has attracted a total of 6,616 competitors from different continents since it was founded in 1979.
