Misk and Gates Foundation collaborate for Saudi youth nonprofit engagement

Riyadh, April 28, 2024, The Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation (Misk) has forged a strategic alliance with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to bolster youth engagement in the non-profit sector in Saudi Arabia. This partnership, as detailed in a press release from Misk, encompasses collaborative efforts to initiate joint global programs aligned with the core focus areas of both foundations.

This landmark partnership was announced during the World Economic Forum Special Meeting held in Riyadh, where it was further disclosed that the Gates Foundation will establish its inaugural regional headquarters within the Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City, known as 'Misk City,' situated in Riyadh.

The framework agreement, inked by Misk CEO Dr. Badr Al Badr and Joe Cerrell, Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, delineates a collaborative blueprint designed to empower Saudi youth and cultivate an environment conducive to driving impactful global initiatives.

According to the press release, this partnership will facilitate enhanced resource sharing, training opportunities, and program development, significantly augmenting Misk's capability to provide substantial empowerment avenues for youth. By leveraging the Gates Foundation's expertise in education, technology, and healthcare sectors, Misk aims to fortify its pivotal role in furnishing high-caliber empowerment opportunities for the Kingdom's youth in the non-profit realm.

Furthermore, the agreement presents an opportunity for the Gates Foundation to extend its geographical reach and capitalize on Misk's proficiency in the non-profit and youth empowerment domains, coupled with the advanced infrastructure and exceptional service network available at Mohammed Bin Salman Non-Profit City.
