According to a report by AP, shares in Asia experienced a mixed performance on Thursday. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index managed to recover from early losses, gaining 0.5% and reaching 17,818.25, while the Shanghai Composite index rose by 0.6% to 3,061.86. However, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropped by 0.6% to 7,029.20, and South Korea's Kospi edged up by only 0.1% to 2,514.96. Bangkok's SET index experienced a 1% loss, while the Sensex in Mumbai had a 0.1% opening increase.
In terms of other trading, U.S. benchmark crude oil saw a decrease of 67 cents, reaching 76.4376.43perbarrelinelectronictradingontheNewYorkMercantileExchange.Similarly,Brentcrude,theinternationalpricingstandard,decreasedby84centsto81.12 per barrel. The U.S. dollar slipped to 149.01 Japanese yen from 149.56 yen.
