The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority, known as Monsha'at, wrapped up its participation in the prestigious ROWAD Entrepreneurship Award & Conference 2023, held in Doha, Qatar from November 20 to 22.
Bringing together more than 70 innovative startups from across the Gulf countries, including 10 from Saudi Arabia, the conference aimed to highlight the significance of entrepreneurial and economic cooperation among GCC nations. Its goal was to inspire Gulf startups to embrace a competitive entrepreneurial culture that fosters innovation and sustainability in the realm of digital transformation.
Monsha'at's esteemed representatives, including Thani Alahmad, the Capabilities Building General Manager, Abdulmajeed Alomrani, the Innovation General Manager, and Abdulmohsein bin Jaffal, the Director of Alternative Funding Solution, actively participated in various panels. These sessions covered crucial topics such as facilitating data access and information support for Gulf entrepreneurs, the services and programs available to them, policies enabling funding access for startups, and the promotion of an innovative culture.
Notably, two Saudi companies claimed first place in the 'Gulf Hackathon' competition, a groundbreaking event in the region. Digital Petroleum Company emerged victorious in the sustainable technology challenge, while the 'Modakkir' application triumphed in the educational technology challenge.
Furthermore, numerous Saudi entrepreneurs showcased their projects and engaged with investors from the region. This allowed for fruitful exchanges of experiences and information, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing with their Gulf counterparts.
Monsha'at's successful participation in the ROWAD Entrepreneurship Award & Conference 2023 underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to nurturing a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and supporting the growth of innovative startups.
