Riyadh, September 15, 2023, A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by the Ministry of Economy and Planning and Alfaisal University to support economic growth and implement community service programs and initiatives in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives. The agreement was signed at the university's main campus in Riyadh. Rakan bin Abdullah Al Alsheikh, the Alfaisal University Vice President for External Relations and Advancement, and Princess Dr. Maha bint Meshari Al Saud, the Deputy Minister for Policies and Economic Planning at the Ministry of Economy and Planning, both signed the MOU. According to the MOU, the two sides will work together to support economic development, launch academic research, put awareness campaigns and community service projects into action, as well as collaborate on a range of projects and events.
According to the MOU, the parties must work together to increase the university's financial gain, establish a network of shared opinion specialists to offer input on a range of economic issues, and share their experience in planning and publishing academic research and public policies in the field of economics.
On the use of university resources, including student research, faculty research, and research laboratories, on economic priority themes that support Saudi Vision 2030, the Ministry of Economy and Planning will conduct consultations. In addition to supervising a team of researchers from both sides who will be tasked with creating public policy studies and academic research for the Ministry, it will provide facilities and collaboration in planning and constructing research project launch plans.
