Munerah AlRasheed elected to lead WCO's RILO for 2025-2026 term

Riyadh, March 11, 2024, In a historic moment, Munerah AlRasheed has been elected to lead the World Customs Organization's (WCO) Regional Intelligence Liaison Offices (RILO) for the next two years (2025-2026). This makes her the first Arab woman to hold this prestigious position within the RILO network. The announcement was made during the 31st Global Meeting of RILO, hosted at the WCO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

AlRasheed's election is a testament to her remarkable achievements. Previously serving as the vice president and Director of the Regional Intelligence Liaison Office for the Middle East (RILO ME) at the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, she made significant contributions to the World Customs Organization. During her tenure, RILO ME played a pivotal role in various WCO initiatives. AlRasheed represented 11 local offices in the Middle East region at meetings, conferences, and workshops, demonstrating her leadership and dedication to advancing the organization's objectives.

With nearly 20 years of experience in diverse fields, AlRasheed is recognized as a seasoned expert. She excels in driving and managing change through the establishment of strategic partnerships. Her expertise spans organizational transformation, operational control, policy development, and human resource management. AlRasheed's election as the head of RILO for the next two years is a milestone not only for her but also for the Arab women breaking barriers and making significant strides in leadership roles on the global stage.
